It doesn’t take much to say it or even express it. And with life’s enjoyment for surprises – we should say it, express it or even write it. Expressing love is never wasted. Telling someone what you feel is a precious gift to share in the now. Words of affection give warmth and joy. A simple ‘I love you’ can do wonders!
The following is a letter to friends, which I wrote and sent in December.
A simple yet meaningful ‘I love you’ to S & C;
To human beings, each with distinctives characters yet alike in so many ways. To individuals, both on each side of the country. To source of inspiration, good listeners and supporters.
In my heart, you hold a special place.
Two souls I’m proud to call friends. From you I’ve learned and discovered many things. From you, I’ve learned to trust, openness and that love comes in all forms at any given day.
Together we’ve managed to overcome two simple obstacle – time and distance, thus learning that it does not necessarily break up a bond.
Dear friends, I write this to illustrate that friendship does not consist of how many one collects. However, the quality. And to me, you’re genuine.
I care for you deeply. I appreciate you.
Time and distance may be between us but I find comfort in knowing that when we see each other again it will be magical as always.
Life is not all happiness, still I wish you all the happiness in the world.
And for the bad days, know that I’ll be there.
Many make the mistake of not sharing what they feel – I included. I’m aware I don’t say this very often but I’m saying it now and more;
I love you.
FYI, I wrote the letter first in English and then translated to Norwegian with uncertainties which to send. This was obviously the English version.
Regardless, the time we have on earth is limited – shower your love ones with words of love and hope!
